The DVI-7312 Optical Extender carries high resolution DVI signals up to 2.0 kilometers (1.2 miles) over single-mode fiber, or 500 meters (1,640 ft) over multi-mode. The unit consists of an optical transmitter module that converts the DVI input signals into light pulses for transmission over two strands of multi-mode or single-mode fiber optic cable, and an optical receiver module that converts the light pulses back to a DVI signal for display.
