Product Overview

Uncompressed Extension with Serviceable Endpoints

Each extender set includes a transmitter at the source and a receiver at the display. A detachable fiber cable connects them. This keeps the installed optical cable separate from the electronics, so the transmitter or receiver can be replaced without pulling new fiber.

Fiber cables are ordered separately in the type, length and connector style required. Each set connects one source to one display. For signal routing or one-to-many distribution, please use DisplayNet.

Optical Fiber Path

Choose multimode or single-mode fiber with the type, length and optical connectors required. Plenum-rated cables for any length and fiber type are available.

Rugged Field Serviceable Endpoints

All transmitter and receiver units are housed in rugged metal enclosures that can easily be replaced while keeping the installed optical fiber cable in place.

Immune to Electrical Interference

Optical fiber is not affected by noise from motors, lighting systems or other electrical equipment. It also has a very low RFI / EMI transmission profile.

The DisplayPort DVI-7380 extender has a range of 8 km (5 miles) on single-mode fiber or 300 meters (~ 1,000 ft) on multimode fiber. The 8K HDMI DVI-7366 extender reaches 600 meters (1,968 ft) using single-mode, 300 meters on multimode fiber. The DVI-7346 and DVI-7348 extender 12G-SDI up to 10 km (6.2 miles) using single-mode fiber.

Signal Integrity

Uncompressed Video up to 8K

Extenders support HDMI up to 8K /60p and DisplayPort up to 8K /30p without using compression commonly used by lesser products.This means that fine text, graphics and gradients remain perfectly intact. EDID and HDCP communication travels across the optical link for reliable source and display operation.

Audio and Control

Audio, Control and Ethernet on Select Models

Select HDMI and DisplayPort models are available with embedded audio, RS-232, bidirectional IR and Ethernet. SDI models are available with embedded audio, tally and RS-485. These signals are transmitted on the same fiber, which greatly reduces cabling, equipment and cost.

DisplayPort Optical Extenders

Two half-rack black DisplayPort extender units stacked one above the other, each with a blue pixel-mosaic top and a row of POWER, LINK, STATUS, HPD and ETHERNET indicator LEDs. The upper unit reads DisplayPort 1.4 Fiber Optic Receiver, DVI-7380-RX and lines up an OPTICAL IN port, a DP OUT DisplayPort connector, IR IN and IR OUT jacks, a three-pin RS-232 terminal block, two 10/100M Ethernet jacks and a locking 12 VDC input. The lower unit reads DisplayPort 1.4 Fiber Optic Transmitter, DVI-7380-TX with the same panel mirrored to OPTICAL OUT and DP IN.

Extends uncompressed DisplayPort 1.4 up to 8K /30p (4:4:4), plus Ethernet, RS-232 and bidirectional IR, over one fiber. Range: up to 8 km (5 miles) on single-mode or 300 m (~ 1,000 ft) on multimode fiber.

8K HDMI Fiber Optic Extender, 1x LC

DVI-7366

Extends uncompressed HDMI 8K /60p (4:4:4), embedded audio, Ethernet, RS-232 and bidirectional IR over one fiber. Range: up to 600 m (1,968 ft) on single-mode or 300 m (~ 1,000 ft) on multimode fiber.

Two slim flat dark-gray HDMI extender modules, each with an HDMI socket at one end and vent slots along the top. The transmitter is marked SOURCE and DVI-7318-TX and carries a PASS and LEARN slide switch beside EDID, LINK and PWR indicator LEDs, an optical OUT port and a +5 VDC input. The receiver is marked DISPLAY and DVI-7318-RX with LINK and PWR LEDs, an optical IN port and its own +5 VDC input.

HDMI 4K/60p Fiber Optic Extender, 1x LC

Rugged, compact extender that supports HDMI 4K /60p (4:4:4), HDCP, EDID and 8-channel audio over one multimode fiber. Range: up to 300 m (~ 1,000 ft).

Two small black HDMI extender modules side by side, each with a gold-plated HDMI plug molded straight onto one end. The left one is marked SOURCE and DVI-7317-TX, the right DISPLAY and DVI-7317-RX, and both carry LINK and PWR indicator LEDs beside a +5 VDC power input.

Rugged, compact extender supports SD-SDI, HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, 6G-SDI and 12G-SDI over one single-mode fiber up to 10 km (6.2 miles). Embedded audio, RS-485 and tally light control are also supported.
